If you are considering purchasing a loft in Dallas, you might want to explore the current tax exemptions offered on properties located within Dallas Historic Districts.  The City of Dallas designates specific areas as Landmark Districts which are home to a high concentration of architecturally and historically significant buildings.  Historic buildings are defined as structures that possess character, location of significant historical event, indentification with a historically significant person, cultural/economic/social/historical heritage, architectural style, architect or master builder, architectural innovation, archaeological significance, or value as an aspect of community sentiment or pride.

Dallas is home to many Landmark Districts including Continental Gin, Eastside Warehouse District, Edison/La Vista Court, Fair Park, Harwood District, Junius Heights, Lake Cliff, Magnolia Station, Munger Place, North Bishop Avenue, Peak’s Suburban Addition, Sears Complex, South Blvd/Park Row, State Thomas, Swiss Avenue, Tenth Street, West End, Wheatley Place, Wilson Block, and Winnetka Heights.

There are several Downtown Dallas Lofts that qualify for the historical tax exemption.  Most of these historic lofts in Dallas were converted from warehouse, industrial, mid rise and high rise buildings  in the Main, Elm, Commerce, Canton, Jackson Street area.  Here are just a few examples of lofts in Downtown Dallas with tax exemptions in place.
