Dallas Homes & Condo Sales Surge

Dallas Real Estate Market

The Dallas real estate market contintues to show signs of recovery with homes sales surging 27% in April.  Many attribute the sharp increase in home sales to the home buyer tax credit which expired as of April 30th.  Dallas Condos also experienced a 49% increase in sales for the month of April which has encouraged many sellers to consider placing their property on the market.  Low interest rates and an abundance of inventory has helped increase home, townhome, loft, and condos sales throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Market.

The Dallas Morning News reported pre owned sales on homes in Dallas rose 11 percent in March which was enough to put home sales ahead 9 percent this year in the North Texas area.  According to Texas A&M University and North Texas Real Estate Information Systems (NTREIS), April was the highest one month sales total since July and and second since the middle of 2008.

The positive report on home sales in North Texas is expected to boost local consumer confidence, related industries, and the economy as a whole.  The buyer’s market in North Texas is still expected to remain for some time, despite a decrease in housing inventory levels and expected increase in home mortgage interest rates
