The case studies below are actual mortgage or real estate applications successfully processed to completion, they are intended for the purpose of providing an example only, and every mortgage application is underwritten separately on its own merits.

Case Study 1) - First time home buyers

FIRST HOME PURCHASE

Rusty and Meesha Williams wanted to buy their first home.

Rusty:

We were so overwhelmed by the prospect of buying a home that we just put it on the back burner for the first two years of our marriage. It seemed so complicated.

Meesha:

Yeah, until I saw the house I wanted with a for sale sign outside.

Rusty:

It was like she went to buy groceries and came back with a house.

Meesha:

It was beautiful and I knew it was the house for us.

The Williams had few assets, and Rusty is a self-employed carpenter.

Rusty:

It was grim. We'd call these mortgage companies and tell them our situation and they were like, 'We can't thank you enough for calling, but we can't help you at all.'

Meesha:

I wanted to write a letter to the people who owned the house and tell them how wonderful we were and how well we'd take care of their house if they'd consider just giving it to us.

Rusty:

Yeah, right.

A friend told Meesha about The Michael Group, and she called.

Rusty:

We're not kidding -- it was unreal. I always had the sense that if I just kept on working hard, one day it would pay off.

Meesha:

We both work hard and it felt bad to constantly be rejected. But it just meant that we had to find a good mortgage company

Rusty and Meesha are now ready for a home improvement loan.

Rusty:

I'm a carpenter, you know, and so we've thought about ways to improve our house.

Meesha:

I've always wanted a really big family room.
